Normal route from the Ahornhütte via the south ridge
This is the standard documented ascent route to Ahornspitze and is generally treated as a mountain hike with short easy climbing sections rather than a technical alpine climb. The route follows the south side and upper south ridge of the peak. In the upper part, the terrain becomes steeper and more exposed, with some scrambling on rock. Route-finding is usually straightforward in good weather, but the summit area can be slippery when wet or snow-covered. The route is best suited to sure-footed, experienced mountain walkers with alpine conditions. It is commonly described as the normal route from the Ahornhütte / Ahorn area.
