Normal route from Jamtalhütte via the Ochsenscharte and the Silvrettagletscher

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the standard documented alpine route to Silvrettahorn and is typically climbed from the Jamtalhütte. It crosses glacier terrain and then ascends the upper snow slopes to the summit ridge. The route is generally considered a straightforward glacier climb in good conditions, but it requires normal alpine equipment and safe crevasse travel. Objective hazards include crevasses, snow bridges, and late-season rock or ice exposure on the upper mountain. Route-finding can become more complex in poor visibility or when the glacier is heavily broken. The summit ridge is usually the final, easiest section to the top.
