Normal route from Glärnischhütte via the south ridge
This is the standard and best-known mountaineering route to the summit of Glärnisch. It is typically climbed from the Glärnischhütte, then continues over alpine terrain to the south ridge and the summit. The route is a serious alpine climb rather than a hike, with exposed sections and route-finding required in places. Conditions can vary significantly with snow and ice, which may increase the difficulty. The descent is usually by the same route. It is documented in Swiss alpine guide sources as the normal ascent line for the peak.
