Normal route from Franz-Senn-Hütte via the Ruderhofspitze Glacier and the south ridge

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the standard and best-known ascent of Ruderhofspitze in the Stubai Alps. It is a classic glacier-and-ridge mountaineering route rather than a hiking trail. The route typically involves crevassed glacier travel, so rope, glacier equipment, and alpine judgment are required. The upper section follows the south ridge, where conditions can vary with snow cover and exposure. Objective hazards include crevasses, serac or snow-slope instability on the glacier, and rock or mixed conditions on the ridge. It is generally considered a moderate alpine climb in the lower technical range.
