Normal route from Ettaler Sattel via the south ridge

This is the established standard ascent to Ettaler Manndl and the route most commonly described in local mountain literature. It follows a steep mountain path and then the south ridge to the summit. The route is short but sustained, with some exposed sections near the top. It is generally classified as an easy alpine climb rather than a simple hike. In dry conditions it is straightforward for sure-footed, experienced mountain walkers. In wet or icy conditions the upper section can feel significantly more serious.
