Normal route from Britanniahütte via the Adlerpass
- Approach Time
- 2-3 h
- Ascent Time
- 4-5 h
- Descent Time
- 3-4 h
This is the standard and best-documented ascent route to Strahlhorn. It is a classic high-alpine glacier climb, usually started from the Britanniahütte. The route crosses glacier terrain and then climbs the broad south-western slopes toward the summit ridge. Objective hazards include crevasses, snow conditions, and late-season rock exposure near the top. In normal conditions it is technically straightforward for experienced mountaineers, but it requires glacier travel skills and good route-finding. The descent is normally made by the same line.
