Normal route from Blüemlisalphütte via the north-west ridge
This is the standard documented alpine route to the summit of Blüemlisalphorn. It is a classic glacier-and-ridge ascent with mixed snow and rock climbing. The route is generally considered a mountaineering objective rather than a hiking route. Crevasse travel on the glacier and route-finding on the ridge are the main objective hazards. Conditions can vary significantly with snow cover and late-season rock exposure. It is typically climbed from the Blüemlisalphütte as a one-day summit outing or as part of a longer traverse in the Blüemlisalp area.
