Normal route from Berliner H fctte via the Schwarzensteinkees and the south ridge
This is the standard documented alpine route to Schönbichler Horn and is usually climbed from the Berliner H fctte. The route crosses glacier terrain on the Schwarzensteinkees and then gains the summit by the south ridge. It is a classic easy alpine climb, but it still requires glacier equipment and safe route-finding. The main objective hazards are crevasses, snow/ice conditions on the glacier, and possible rockfall or loose blocks on the upper ridge. In normal conditions it is a straightforward mountaineering ascent rather than a technical rock climb. The route is commonly described as a moderate glacier-and-ridge tour in the Zillertal Alps.
