Innerkofler Route

This is the established normal mountaineering route to the summit of the highest Cima Grande in the Tre Cime group. It is a classic Dolomite alpine climb rather than a hiking route, with exposed scrambling and short climbing sections on solid but often polished limestone. The route is generally considered moderate in difficulty compared with the famous north-face lines, but it still requires alpine experience and sure-footedness. Route-finding can be important, especially in poor visibility or when the rock is wet. Rockfall and loose sections are possible on the approach and in gullies. It is typically climbed in summer conditions when the rock is dry.

The Comici Route is one of the most famous big-wall climbs in the Dolomites and a benchmark line on the north face of Cima Grande. It is a serious alpine rock route with sustained difficult climbing and significant exposure. The line is historically important and well documented in classic guidebooks and climbing literature. Conditions on the face can vary greatly, and the route demands good route-finding, stamina, and competence on steep limestone. It is not a hiking objective and is suitable only for experienced climbers. The descent is commonly made by the normal route or other established descent lines, depending on conditions.

The Cassin Route is another major historic line on the north face of Cima Grande and is firmly established in the alpine literature. It is a serious, sustained rock climb with difficult technical passages and a strong alpine character. The route is known for exposure, commitment, and the need for precise route-finding on steep limestone. It is generally climbed by experienced alpinists in stable weather and dry conditions. As with the other north-face routes, rockfall and changing conditions are important hazards. The descent is typically made via an established descent route after the summit.
