This is the standard and best-known alpine route to the summit of Aiguille du Goûter and the normal access line for Mont Blanc from the French side. It is a high-mountain route with sustained glacier and snow travel, plus steep rocky sections on the ridge. The crossing of the Grand Couloir is the key objective hazard, with frequent rockfall, especially in warm conditions. The route is usually broken by an overnight stay at the Tête Rousse and/or Goûter Hut. Above the hut, the route follows the exposed ridge and snow slopes toward the Bosses. Although technically moderate, it demands good acclimatization, early starts, and stable weather. It is not a hiking trail and requires full alpine equipment and experience.
