The East Ridge is another established route on Mont Dolent and is known as a classic alpine ridge ascent. It combines glacier approach with mixed ridge climbing, so it requires competence in both snow travel and exposed scrambling/climbing. The route is not a simple snow plod; the ridge can involve short technical passages and objective hazards from rockfall or unstable snow.
