This is the standard documented alpine route to Wasenhorn, usually climbed from the Italian side via the Alpe Veglia area and the Bivacco Città di Gallarate. It follows glacier and easy mixed terrain to the summit ridge, with the exact line depending on snow conditions. The route is generally considered a straightforward alpine ascent rather than a technical rock climb. Crevasse danger and snow conditions on the glacier are the main objective hazards. Late-season conditions can make the upper slopes more broken and require careful route-finding. It is commonly described as a classic easy 3000-metre peak in the Lepontine / Monte Leone area.
