This is the standard documented mountaineering route to the eastern summit of Corno Grande. It is an alpine route rather than a simple hiking trail, and is generally considered the easiest way to the summit. The line involves exposed mountain terrain and can require snow or mixed conditions depending on season. Route-finding is usually straightforward in good visibility, but the mountain is serious in bad weather. Objective hazards include loose rock, snow, and ice on the upper slopes. It is commonly described in Gran Sasso climbing literature as the normal ascent to the Vetta Orientale.
