This is the standard and best-documented alpine route to Sch f6nbichlerhorn. It is a glacier-and-snow ascent from the Berliner H fctte area, typically involving travel on the Schwarzensteinkees. The route is generally considered a straightforward mountaineering objective in the Zillertal Alps, but it requires normal glacier equipment and competence in crevasse travel. Conditions on the glacier and the upper slopes can vary significantly with season and weather. The final section to the summit is usually on snow or mixed alpine terrain rather than technical rock climbing. Descent is normally made by the ascent route.
