This is the classic and most commonly described route to Rimpfischhorn. It starts from the Britanniahütte and crosses the Adlerpass before joining the southwest ridge. The route is a sustained alpine climb on mixed terrain, with snow, rock, and occasional ice. The ridge is generally straightforward in good conditions but requires sure-footedness and route-finding. Objective hazards include crevasses on the glacier approach and loose or exposed sections on the ridge. It is a serious high-alpine outing rather than a simple snow climb.

The east ridge is a well-known alternative alpine route on Rimpfischhorn. It is generally considered more demanding than the standard southwest ridge. The climb involves glacier travel and a more technical ridge section with greater exposure. Conditions can vary significantly with snow cover and rock quality. It is suitable for experienced alpinists comfortable with route-finding and mixed terrain. As with all routes on this peak, crevasse danger and changing mountain conditions are important concerns.
