This is the standard documented alpine route to Piz Scerscen and is usually climbed from the Marinelli-Bombardieri hut. The route crosses the Scerscen Glacier and then gains the summit by the north-west ridge. It is a classic high-alpine glacier and mixed snow route with objective hazards from crevasses and serac or avalanche exposure. Conditions can change significantly with snow cover, and route-finding on the glacier is important. The upper ridge is steeper and more exposed than the approach, but the climb is generally considered the normal way to the summit. It is a serious mountaineering objective rather than a hiking route.
