North Ridge

3A | AD | III
The North Ridge is the classic mountaineering line on Monte Cinto and is the best-known alpine route to the summit. It is a genuine mountain route rather than a hiking path, involving sustained scrambling and mixed terrain. The route is typically considered the more technical way to the top compared with the normal walking ascent from the south. Conditions can vary significantly with snow and ice, which can increase the seriousness of the route. Route-finding on the ridge and on the upper mountain is an important part of the climb. It is documented in Corsican alpine literature and guide sources as a standard ascent line.

South Face

2A | PD | II
The South Face is a documented alpine route on Monte Cinto and is generally less technical than the north-ridge line. It still requires mountain experience because the terrain is steep, rocky, and exposed in places. The route is subject to objective hazards from loose rock and changing weather. Snow patches can make the upper sections more serious outside the main summer season. It is a true mountaineering ascent rather than a simple hike. The line is known in guidebook and local climbing references for the massif.
