This is the standard and best-known mountaineering route on Mont Collon. It is a glacier and snow climb, typically undertaken from the Cabane de Bertol. The route is generally considered a straightforward alpine ascent rather than a technical rock climb, but it requires proper glacier travel skills. Crevasse danger and snow conditions are the main objective hazards. Route-finding can vary with seasonal snow cover and glacier changes. It is a classic 3000-plus-metre alpine summit in the Pennine Alps area of Valais.
