This is the standard and best-documented mountaineering route to Mittel Allalin. It is a glacier and snow ascent starting from the Mittelallalin cable-car station, usually via Feejoch, and then across the Allalin Glacier to the summit. The route is generally straightforward in alpine terms but requires glacier travel skills and appropriate equipment. Crevasses and snow conditions are the main objective hazards, especially later in the season. The difficulty is usually modest, but route-finding can be affected by visibility and changing glacier conditions. It is commonly used as an acclimatization or training ascent in the Saas Fee area.
