This is the standard and best-known route on Lenzspitze. It follows the northeast ridge from the Mischabeljoch Hut and is a classic mixed alpine climb. The route is generally straightforward in dry, stable conditions but requires sure-footedness on exposed ridge terrain. Snow and ice can significantly increase the difficulty and objective hazard. Route-finding is important, especially in poor visibility. It is typically climbed as a hut-based alpine ascent rather than a pure day outing.

The southwest ridge is a documented alpine route on Lenzspitze and is generally considered more serious than the normal northeast-ridge ascent. It involves sustained mixed climbing on an exposed ridge with glacier approach. Conditions on the ridge can vary greatly with snow cover and rock quality. Crevasse and serac hazards may be present on the approach depending on the line taken. This is a committing mountaineering route suited to experienced climbers.
