This is a documented approach variant to the same summit line, using the Finsteraarhornhütte side as the access base. It still culminates on the southwest ridge, which is the key technical feature of the mountain. The route involves glacier travel and alpine route-finding before the ridge climbing begins. It is exposed and condition-dependent, especially where snow bridges and ice can alter the character of the approach. The climbing is sustained but not extremely difficult in pure rock grade terms. It is best suited to experienced alpinists comfortable with remote glacier terrain.
