This is the standard documented mountaineering route to Kesselkogel, usually climbed from Rifugio Antermoia. It follows the south-west side and ridge of the mountain on steep scree and easy rock, with short sections where hands are used. The route is generally considered a classic Dolomite alpine ascent rather than a hiking path. Conditions can be loose, especially on the upper slopes and in descent. In dry weather it is usually straightforward for experienced mountaineers, but route-finding is important in mist. It is commonly graded around easy alpine difficulty.
