This is the standard and best-documented ascent route to Habicht. It starts from the Innsbruck Hütte and climbs to the Habichtscharte before continuing over the upper mountain to the summit. The route is an alpine mountain tour rather than a technical rock climb, but it requires sure-footedness and good route-finding. Depending on conditions, the upper slopes and ridge can involve snow, loose rock, or mixed terrain. In early season or after fresh snowfall, the route can become significantly more serious. It is generally considered the normal way to climb the peak from the Stubai side.
