This is the standard documented ascent to Großer Bettelwurf and is generally treated as an alpine route rather than a simple hiking trail. It starts from the Bettelwurfhütte area and climbs through the south-facing terrain toward the summit. The route is mostly on steep mountain paths and rocky ground, with short sections where sure-footedness and basic scrambling are required. In dry conditions it is usually straightforward for experienced mountain walkers, but it can become significantly more serious with snow, ice, or wet rock. The main objective hazards are loose rock, exposure on the upper slopes, and rapid weather changes typical of the Karwendel. It is the best-known and most commonly described way to the summit of Großer Bettelwurf.
