A classic alpine route on Fründenhorn, following the south ridge to the summit. It is generally a mountaineering climb rather than a technical rock route, but it still requires sure-footedness and comfort on exposed terrain. The line is typically climbed from the Fründenhütte area, with access over glacier and/or scree depending on conditions. Objective hazards can include loose rock and crevasse danger on the approach. The ridge itself is usually the key feature of the ascent and is the standard documented route on the peak.
