This is the standard and best-known way to climb Dammastock. The route is a classic glacier ascent with moderate alpine difficulty, typically involving snow slopes and crevassed glacier travel. Conditions can vary significantly with season, especially on the upper glacier and summit slopes. Ropework, crampons, and glacier travel skills are normally required. Objective hazards include crevasses, serac or snow instability, and poor visibility on the glacier. The route is usually done from the Damma Hut as a one-day summit outing or as part of a longer alpine program.
